The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) has began Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) on 255 roads across the 33 local government areas in the state for rehabilitation.

The Chairman of the Agency, Honourable Ogunlade Busoye Soladoye made this known while on inspection of the 255 roads earmarked for rehabilitation across the State.

He said that the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde had given the agency 750 million naira to ensure zero potholes on the roads across the 33 Local Government Areas which are grouped into three zones namely Ibadan, Oyo-Ogbomoso, and Ibarapa-Oke-Ogun.

He stated that Ibadan city had been covered already while the remaining two zones are still being worked on, and promised that every area will be perfected soon.

He however highlighted his roles since his emergence as the Chairman of the Agency, he stressed that he has met with OYSROMA Engineers and an extensive inspection of roads across the state has been done to ensure that rehabilitation of deplorable roads commence speedily.

He also listed some of the roads in Ibadan that has been rehabilitated to include Dugbe to Mokola roads; Femi Johnson Junction along Oke-Ado road; Molete-Fire Station- Challenge Road; Adeoyo Hospital Junction(Ring Road); ANCE Roundabout, Dugbe and Railway Frontage, Dugbe.

He further emphasized that the agency also carried out rehabilitation on drainages along some roads. Some of the rehabilitation activities included repair of Rubble Stone drain; Desilting of silted drains and construction of slit trap for drainages.

He also commended the OYSROMA staff for giving him full support while urging them to put in more efforts by giving their all to the work at hand to ensure zero potholes in Oyo State.

Honourable Ogunlade Busoye, also appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde who he said to be the best Governor Oyo state has ever produced, for giving him the opportunity to Chair the agency and making the State the envy of other States in Nigeria.

He urged the people of Oyo state to desist from dumping refuse on drainage as it tends to block waterways and result to spillover thereby causing potholes on the roads.

He also advised the youths to be involved in politics to bring about a change in the nation’s narrative and to do away with all vices.
