Its status as a civil service state and a hub for Agriculture is also remarkable. Oloye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, an Ibadan chief, has urged people of integrity, including professors, professionals, and technocrats, to engage in politics. Adegoke, who is the Aare-Onibon Balogun of Ibadan land, emphasized the importance of those who have achieved success in their chosen fields entering politics to stop what he called miscreants and hoodlums from seizing power.

Nigeria has leadership and followership issues, according to Adegoke, who said that the 1999 constitution (as revised in 2011) is flawed. If individuals of integrity avoid politics, he warned, “Hoodlums will be in charge.” “There will be a shortage throughout the nation if the hoodlums take over; there will be a food shortage and inflation because it is said that you cannot give what you do not have.”

There are notable seasoned technocrats in Oyo State, to mention a few like the DG of OYSADA, Dr. Debo Akande, who have significantly improved agriculture in Oyo State and, as a result, attracted both local and foreign investors around the world into the State agricultural sector. Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, first female Secretary to the State Government, is a talented technocrat and an indigene of Ibadan from Ile Mato, Oranyan, in Ibadan North East area. She has held a variety of roles in organisations with both local and global responsibilities. It is also good to note that technocrats in Oyo State have laid down leadership and capacity-building legacies to prepare future leaders in the State.

The governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Seyi Makinde, was joined by his counterpart from Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, to officially open a 5.25-kilometer road project, according to a statement from the governor’s chief press secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa.

Governor Seyi Makinde was praised for sticking up for his people by Governor Bala, who attended the ceremony as the special guest of honor. Bala described Governor Seyi Makinde as being passionate and intentional about the growth of Oyo State. “The governor of Oyo State, a seasoned technocrat, entered office with a strategy, and that plan has been about utilising the resources at his disposal to improve the condition of his State and its constituents.”

Governor Seyi Makinde is therefore, the young man who keeps transforming Oyo State through creative leadership and ingenious ideas.
