The Oyo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has praised party supporters in the area for their outward displays of love and support as well as their open declarations of unwavering commitment towards the reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde following the conclusion of its political campaign in Ogbomosho.

In a press release issued on January 12 by Akeem Olatunji, the state’s publicity secretary, the PDP, which is now in power in Oyo state, said this.

This was as the ruling PDP cautioned opposition against being adamant against all advises to avoid wasting wasting already scarce resources trying to contest against Seyi Makinde saying such venture under the present Oyo state was an exercise in futility stressing March 11 election was for Makinde to officially validate and register his second term of four years.

“The handwriting is all over the place you don’t need a sutsayer to tell you the obvious fact because Makinde is the people’s project and you don’t go to the same people campaigning against their own own project, you have to wait for another time or you’d already be on your one way street to a dead end”. Oyo PDP said.

The party also commended the students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) for the ‘Walk for Makinde’ in Ogbomosho during the campaign.

While also commending traditional rulers and religious leaders who all turned out enmass in the zone, the party stated that such show of support and love was overwhelming and assuring, noting that the zone was now officially locked down for Governor Makinde.

According to the ruling PDP, the entire three days of the party’s campaign in Ogbomosho sparked a renewed pulse for celebration and excitement across every nooks and crannies of the zone leaving a relishing impression of a national carnival-like political rally.

The party said the mammoth crowd at every event during the Ogbomosho campaign was a clear testament of total acceptability of the second term bid of Governor Seyi Makinde in the zone, who the party described as the hero of modern Oyo state.

Drawing inference from the Holy Bible in the book of John 1:5-7 the party said Governor Makinde is the one sent by God to rescue Oyo state from the claws of the last administration saying, ” Makinde as the light shineth in darkness; and their darkness comprehended it not.

“There is a man (Makinde) sent from God to rescue Oyo state from the clutches of agents of darkness. The same Makinde is here again for a witness, to bear witness of the God’s Light to the people of Oyo state, that all men through him might believe that God is still very much involved in the affairs of Oyo state.”

The ruling PDP explained further that “Makinde’s success in the last three and half years in office are enough to speak of the good works God has used the Governor to perform to the amazement of opposition who had thought they had set numerous ‘pakutes’ that would consume a God’s sent man.

“That’s why the Holy book said, ‘when the righteous rules, the people rejoices.’ the feeling in town across every part of the state has been nothing but pure joy and happiness due to the good governance and purposeful leadership being championed by Governor Makinde.

“Of a truth, the state has never had it so good in term of general wellbeing of the people in the state, and the general acceptability for continuity is only an evidence that we’re truly serving and making life more meaningful for the people who own the mandate.

“We can only assure that Governor Makinde’s first term has clearly proved all negativity by opposition and pessimists wrong and the support of the good people of Oyo state under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, we’re more resolute and committed to engineering Oyo state to a more modern and enviable height in the coming years.”
