The former Minister of Communications who is also an APC Chieftain, Barrister Chief Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu on Wednesday evening broke the Ramadan fast with the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal in their residence at Bashorun, Ibadan.

The iftar, with the Deputy Governor, also captured the presence of several Muslim society groups, including Political Awareness Group, (PAGA) Political Forum who had been breaking the Ramandan fast with him ever since the beginning of the Holy month.

While expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and delicious meal that were provided to him, Shittu also officially congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde and the Deputy Governor on their victory in the March 18th governorship election.

According to a statement personally signed by him, dated 21st of March, the Ex-Minister described Governor Makinde’s electoral victory as an uncommon victory.

He stated that it’s clear and unequivocal that the overwhelming majority of people in Oyo state have spoken with one voice.

Shittu said: “Almighty Allah has spoken with His will. Of course, His Will prevails at all times.

“As a pathological democrat and faithful and totally submissive Muslim, I’m obliged to congratulate you for the uncommon victory. I pray Almighty Allah would support you with good health, longevity and Solomonic wisdom in all your efforts to transform our dear state to become the quintessential state that we all desire for her,” the statement reads in part.
