Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Wednesday flag-off the distribution of palliatives to 200 thousand households in Oyo zone area of the state.
According to Westerndaily.com report, Makinde after his speech during the flag-off of the distribution at Hakeem Adeyemi mini stadium in Oyo with his entourage went into the town to distribute the packed food items.
He disclosed that households categorized as the poorest of the poor within the state would receive 10kg of rice each and 5kg of beans in a phased distribution process beginning from Thursday
According to the governor, he said, the palliative budgetary framework comprises various segments including food, food security (agropreneurs), and security apparatus among others.
Makinde assured the residents of the state that the distribution would be handled with utmost sincerity and not be based on politics.
In attendance are all government functionaries, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Hon. Barrister Seun Ashamu, Prof. Babatunde, Hon. Maruff Akinwande, Hon. Busoye Ogunlade (OYSROMA).
Others are; Hon. Gbenga Oyekola (Atiba State Constituency), Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman Cephas (Oyo West/East State constituency), Hon. Prince Deji Oparinde(Afijio State constituency), Hon.
