‎A physically challenged woman, Mrs Hadijat Akinlosotu was filled with joy after receiving a new wheelchair promised to her by Dr. Debo Akande, The Phenomenal E.A to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness and International Corporation Development during the groundbreaking and launch of the Historical Library Building and Hall of Fame project of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) he facilitated dated 7th April, 2026 at Ibadan House.


‎The beneficiary expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Akande for fulfilling his promise, describing the gesture as a rare display of integrity and compassion.


‎Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) office in Total Garden, Ibadan, she revealed that she initially doubted the promise would be fulfilled.


‎”At first, I thought Dr. Debo was joking, just like many politicians who make promises when elections are approaching. But to my surprise, I was contacted and invited to receive the wheelchair. It made me realize that there are still people who keep their promises, even without securing the governorship ticket,” she said.


‎Overwhelmed with gratitude, she noted that the wheelchair would significantly improve her mobility and ease the pain she previously endured while moving around.


‎”Now, I can move more comfortably and independently. This gift has put a smile on my face. I sincerely pray for God’s blessings upon Dr. Debo Akande and his family,” she added.


‎The beneficiary also extended her appreciation to the team’s coordinator Persons With Disabilities Ibadan North, Hon. Wasiu Nurudeen Adanla ( Oba-Aro), for his leadership and support throughout the process.


‎The coordinator PWDs in Ibadan North, Hon. Wasiu Oba-Aro also recognized Dr. Debo for his kind gesture and prays for more success in his endeavors.


‎Representing Dr. Debo Akande at the event, OYSADA Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kola Badmus, presented the wheelchair on behalf of Dr Akande . He encouraged the beneficiary to make good use of the wheelchair and wished her well in her daily activities.


‎The gesture has been widely commended as a demonstration of compassion, commitment, and responsible leadership, reinforcing public confidence in leaders who honour their promises.
