Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Sunday afternoon visited Iganna Town for an on-the-spot assessment following the clashes between Fulanis and indigenes two days ago which led to the loss of lives and property.
During the visit, governor Makinde urged all residents to stop the cycle of violence and retaliatory attacks, thanking the security agencies whose timely intervention helped to contain and de-escalate the situation.
He posted on his social media platforms saying “I promised that we would work with the security agencies to ensure that the victims received justice and that the culprits were brought to book.”
“May the souls of the victims rest in peace.” He said.
