Latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS have shown that Oyo State attracted $2m foreign direct investment in the first quarter of 2022.

This was contained in the NBS quarterly report on Nigeria Capital Importation released on Thursday.

According to the report, the total value of capital importation into Nigeria in the first quarter of 2022 stood at US$1,573.14 million down from US$2,187.63 million in the preceding quarter, a 28.09% decline.

Oyo state attracted $2million in foreign direct investment, the fourth highest in the country.

By destination of investment, Lagos state remained the top destination in Q1 2022 with US$1,119.44 million accounting for 71.16% of total capital investment into Nigeria. This was followed by investment into Abuja (FCT), valued at US$446.81 million (28.40%).�

Anambra was the third highest with an investment of $4.15million and Oyo following with $2million foreign investment in Q1 2022.
