The Oyo State Government has confirmed its readiness to play host to the world’s tourists at the Iya Mopo Hill in Igbeti to observe this year’s World Tourism Day.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Government on Tourism and Culture, Hon. Akeem Ige, has had the location assessed in preparation for the day.
The Day is usually 27th of September as set aside by the United Nations since 1970, to create awareness of tourism’s social, cultural, political, and economic contributions to tourist destinations and host communities.
The Iya Mopo Hill which was once used as shelter against attacks, is the highest hill in Igbeti which occupies over six kilometers of land mass and is as high as one hundred and fifty feet.
